ST GEORGE MARATHON

Inspired
Each year I see so many people running that are very inspiring and make you want to be a better person. There was one runner who pushed his friend the entire way in a wheelchair. As they ran they chatted and made jokes. I was amazed he could push him the entire way and still have energy to talk let alone laugh. It was amazing.
Grateful
Running a marathon always makes me grateful for a lot of things. Simply, I'm grateful I have the ability, and desire to run. For the support of friends, and family, and for the sense of accomplishment running a marathon brings. OH, and I was VERY grateful to see the finish line! :)

This year I finished 3:57. It was a LOT slower than I had hoped, but considering I walked the last 4 miles I was glad I still came in under 4 hours. The past month I've been nursing a foot with plantar fasciitis and at mile 21 my foot decided it was time to walk... Injuries are frustrating but I've learned you just have to stay optimistic and just do the best you can.

Who's up for running it next year??!!

California!!!

WOW 2 posts in 1 week.....that is a first!

Last week we got back from a fun week long trip to California!!! Our friends the Ottesen's were nice enough to invite us to come along with them for this fun filled week! We are grateful for their friendship and the fun memories!

We also went to the tide pools and looked at all the creatures! Of all the times I've been to the ocean this was my first tidepool experience so I enjoyed it.

The next day we went to Six Flags!! I never get tired of that place! We rode all of the big rides. My favs are still Tatsu and The X2, they have a new ride Terminator Salvation that was also super good! Sure glad I outgrew my childhood fear of rollercoasters!

The other days we spent just relaxing and hanging out at the beach.

Goodbye Summer! :(

School has arrived!! I'm sad that summer is over, but I am actually really excited that school started this week because it is my LAST semester in the nursing program! YAY Here are my long overdue posts.....

BRYCE CANYON AND THE LAKE

In July we ran the Bryce Canyon 5k race in Cannondale. (our tradition for the past 3 yrs now) It was a really fun race. We took the catamaran home to Wayne after the race to try it out at Fish Lake with my parents, sister Amber, and Grandma Bonnie. We sailed and kayaked a little but the gusty wind and storm clouds cut the fun short. It was a really fun weekend spent with friends and family though!

CAMPING @ KOLOB
We went up to Kolob reservoir for the 4th of July weekend and camped for 2 nights. Ty's friend from school Brian and his family joined us as well as our friends Travis and Joseph. It was a super fun trip this year and we didn't even get a skunk in the tent like last year!!

GRAND CANYON
Earlier this month we were able to go camping at the Grand Canyon. It was SOO much fun!! Thanks to Hayley, Lindsey&Michael, and Jeff&Jenna for coming and making it such a super fun trip!! We had fun talking around the fire, playing the name game?, cooking dutchoven chicken and potatoes, s'mores, relaxing, taking lots of pics, awing over the beautiful canyon, and last but not least HIKING IN THE CANYON!! What a great trip.

WAYNE COUNTY FAIR & 5YR CLASS REUNION
It is SOO crazy it has already been 5 years since we graduated, but each year just keeps getting better and better! It was really fun to get together with everyone and chat and catch up on life. We missed everyone who was unable to make it but a big thanks to everyone who came. Also thanks to those who helped especially my MOM for helping with food! She is the best! Here are some pics from the reunion!

Blogging is like keeping a journal! I love being able to look over our previous posts and have all of those great memories come back!! Try it with your own blog, you will be amazed at what you've already forgotten. Now to update my blournal... haha

Ty and his new birthday toy!! Here is a pic of Ty and Jeremy taking out the catamaran for its first voyage earlier this summer!!

Last month was the St George Tri!! Even though they cancelled the swim portion due to high winds it turned out to be a really fun race!!



After the race our friends came out and we played at the lake all day! All 6 of us including Megs who was due in 5 days, took a ride on the catamaran! It was fun and uneventful until the wind stopped while we were in the middle of the lake and Megs started contracting. It was kinda crazy, but luckily we made it back to the shore and little Tucker decided to wait another week before he came out!


Also last month we were able to go with my family on the traditional camping trip to the Henry Mountains!! I LOVE going there! We were able to relax, ride four wheelers, catch frogs, make somemores, eat really yummy food, and best of all just be with family. Kim and Jeremy also came which made it even more fun. While we were there we also went to Lake Powell and got a nice sun burn to start off the summer! We took a four wheeler ride up the mountain and found this beautiful view!

SUMMER HAS ARRIVED!!

Finals week is over...let the Summer fun begin!! Time to catch up...

Last month for spring break we continued our tradition of going to Carlsbad, California!! It was SOO much fun. This year we went with 3 fun couples from our ward and spent 4 days just relaxing on the beach, surfing, boogie boarding, eating TONS of yummy sushi, eating HUGE strawberries, going to the San Diego Temple, and shopping. The weather was great with no rain until the drive home. Here are a couple videos Ty took while boogie boarding!


For Easter we went home to Bicknell!!! It was a lot of fun. We had an Easter picnic, explored the sites in Capital Reef, and of course had the traditional Easter egg hunt!! We are lucky to have such a great family and beautiful scenery to enjoy!

Life is Good

What we've been up to lately.......
Three weeks ago we headed up to Brian Head with some super cool friends Kim and Jeremy! It was a sunny clear day so it was perfect!

Also a few weeks ago we were able to take a cruise to Mexico! We went with a really fun group from work and most of their spouses. We had the time of our lives and didn't even get kidnapped! Here are a few of us from the group We stopped in Encenada and took a tour to La Bufadora. The 2nd largest blow hole in the world! The scenery there was Beautiful and they had a lot of cool shops to barter in!





And last but not least on the 10th it was Tyler's BDay! One year older and wiser! He's the best guy in the world and I'm the luckiest girl to have him for a hubby!

Thursday we put on our Gator Gear and watched the game with some friends!!
